22/04/2021 – Webinar: More on the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 (NSW) and Regulations

The new regime of design compliance declarations under the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 (NSW) is intended to introduce significant change to the design development process for class 2 projects, with a view to increasing the accountability of designers by imposing obligations on them to ensure that the designs they issue are fully compliant. With the new regime coming into operation on 1 July 2021, now is the time for architects, engineers and anyone who prepares what the Act defines as “regulated designs” to review the new requirements and start putting systems and resources in place to fulfil their obligations.

Following on from our 2020 webinar which provided an overview of the key features of the D&BP Act, we are pleased to once again be joined by Landers & Rogers solicitors, Dearne Wellington and Elizabeth Berwick to take an in-depth look at the D&BP Act and recently drafted Regulations, in particular the compliance declarations that are required to be issued by design practitioners for regulated designs under the Act. Dearne and Elizabeth will be joined by Planned Cover State Manager (NSW), Simon Gray to discuss the insurance requirements of the legislation.
