12/09/18 – Be informed Briefing: Update on Cladding Investigations and Compliance

In association with the Australian Institute of Architects, this informed event gives you the chance to update your understanding on some key developments in Victoria around combustible cladding.

In 2018, the VBA has been investigating 1369 planning permits identified as a priority by the Victorian Cladding Taskforce. Luke Exell, Deputy Head of the State-wide Cladding Audit, will discuss the audit’s findings and highlight new requirements for the use of combustible cladding on multi-storey buildings.

Fire engineer Jonathan Barnett will recap some of the key provisions in the National Construction Code relating to combustibility, including AS1530 and the new AS5113, to help consultants understand what to look for when investigating cladding products.
