Getting the Right Fit: From Briefing to Specification

informed Risk Managers, Wendy Poulton and Natalie Sullivan, will be joining forces with the Australian Institute of Architects to present as part of their National Seminar Series.

Two vital steps to project success are communicating the client’s needs (in the brief) and communicating the detail of how those needs will be met (in specifications). The last two decades have seen great shifts in the responsibility of clients, consultants and builders for these key decisions. Shortcomings and shortcuts in these areas are regular contributors to defects and disputes.

Through case studies of claims, Wendy and Natalie will discuss an architect’s duty of care when it comes to briefing and specifications, and look at ways to reduce the risks of errors and claims.

The National Seminar Series runs from 17 April to 15 May in a variety of states, and will also be available via livestream.
